The previous tip showed the advice of intermediaries to our guide. However, in order to best follow and benefit from this advice, one needs the right attitude of spirit. This attitude is that of spiritual childishness. It gives courage and strength to confidently follow the path of the Rays. It also gives an understanding of who and what we are of ourselves, and who we are when the Rays of the Source penetrate us. This understanding is real, internal, stripped of the appearance of superficiality which is acting for show to people, dressing for show in expensive clothes, a commanding tone of voice, shouting or violence. Who we are on the outside will never be true if it doesn’t match what’s on the inside. And what’s inside we often want to hide out of fear lest someone laugh at it, destroy it or trample it. But this is what the Source wants from us, it wants us to be real. It wants us constantly in its Rays. But then, when we are in those Rays we see our smallness, and at the same time we see the unlimited greatness of the Source, we see the abyss of His perfection. And these are two extremes. Our task is to constantly have both of these extremes in view – our littleness and weakness and the omnipotence of the Source. Then our cognition of everything else is true and right. Then we have the power to see the true values in the world around us and to choose them accordingly. This gift is acceptable only to someone who has an attitude of spiritual childishness.
Applications
The clue we get from this card is that the further we want to get the harder it is, and the harder it is, the more we need to adopt an attitude of spiritual childishness. Without this attitude, even simple things will frighten us, and we won’t see the good things. It’s like sailing only by the power of the oars, not using the power of the wind that pushes the ship forward without our participation.
Spiritual childishness can be encountered not only in the pages of instructions written down by our guide, but there are other travelers who wrote down this attitude in their notes. This was done by people who, like our heroine, followed closely the path of the Rays. They, too, raised the issue of spiritual childhood and were instructed by the Admiral Master about the importance of such an attitude. The Admiral also instructed that persevering in this attitude was only possible with the help of the Star of the Sea. Therefore, anyone who would like to take up the attitude of spiritual childhood is never alone, but always with this wonderful Lady. Each of us is different, but this attitude is recommended as a shortcut to the Source both for the greatest intellectuals and for us ordinary people.
